Cape Cod Playwrights The 2021 Kaplan Playwright competition is now accepting submissions. The New Playwrights, New Plays Competition encourages and stimulates the writing and production of new full-length plays by Cape and Island writers. The Competition is sponsored by Eventide Theatre Company, a Cape Cod non-profit organization devoted to producing stimulating theatre for the purpose of inspiring thought and debate and showcasing the work of local artists. Call for Curator The Kris Waldman Curator-In-Residence Exhibit seeks to support an annual Curator-In-Residence program at the Hopkinton Center for the Arts. Cantabrigia Award Thanks to a grant from Cambridge Arts, Orbis Editions is now accepting proposals from Cambridge-based artists and writers to make publications in 2021. The inaugural Cantabrigia Award will provide two writers/artists the resources to publish and distribute their work. The recipient will be awarded a $1,000 stipend and resources (in-house editing, design, and printing) valued at $4,000, geared towards the production of a publication. Learn more.

Emerging Artist Fellowship Program Applications are now being accepted for the Kingston Gallery’s Emerging Artist Program. The Emerging Artist program was conceived to act as a stepping stone for an artist early in their career into the professional art world of exhibiting and operating an artist-run gallery. The gallery will help an emerging artist show a body of new work in a professional setting. The emerging artist will be connected with experienced artists who will educate them on the practical aspects of every day art gallery business. Call to Trans, Non-Binary Artists, Writers If Only I Had Known is accepting submissions of visual art and short texts written by trans and non-binary people who began their transitional journey ten or more years ago. This collection will focus on writing that speaks to the less talked about aspects of living on the fringes of the binary world, whether for a brief time or a lifetime. Insights about early transition changes / behavior / expectations, tales of how a body behaves after years of change, and reflections on who or what was present or absent from the early days of transition are topics of interest.
