Call to Artists Apply to participate in the Arts and Cultural Inclusion symposium at UMass Boston November 22, 2016. The full-day event will showcase artists using various mediums to convey experiences and issues related to cultural and social inclusion. The symposium will feature an artist panel, TEDx style talks, and artist-led workshops covering topics such as globalization versus appropriation, humanities and healing, and ethnography through performance, and the business side of social practice. Choreograpers The Boston Dance Alliance has announced that BDA member choreographers now have an option to rent rehearsal space on the Boston side of the river at The Lyric Stage at below market rates. The partnership between the Lyric Stage and Boston Dance Alliance is a direct response to the Boston Creates Cultural Plan released this past summer, establishing an interdisciplinary partnership and leveraging a valuable resource that helps artists develop their work. Call to Cape Cod Artists The Arts Foundation of Cape Cod will host its 10th Annual Member Winter Art Exhibit Personal Space in January/February 2017 at the Cotuit Center for the Arts. All Cape Cod established and emerging artists submit art for consideration and are selected by jury. Learn more.

Fund for Boston Artists The Opportunity Fund grant aims to support individual artists in Boston for activities that continue their education and skill building, or helps them share their work or teach others. Additionally, teachers may use this fund for field trips. This grant will fund specific needs, such as materials, professional development costs, conference fees, travel related to professional development, stipends for teaching artists, field trips, or anything that helps you share your work with the public. Applicants may request up to $1,000. $10,000 will be available per month until it runs out. Learn more.

Winter Field Studies in Art and Nature ART+BIO Collaborative, a nonprofit organization, offers educational travel courses that integrate field biology and art. This course is designed for students, artists, scientists, professionals and anyone interested in nature, art, and biology. ISLAND LIFE: Tropical Field Studies of Art+Nature in Puerto Rico is a hands-on, immersive, and project-based program that integrates biology and art in the field, at various environments in Puerto Rico. The focus of the program is to learn about Puerto Rico’s diverse wildlife through artmaking and field biology. We travel to rainforests, dry forests, beach, coastal, coral reef, mangrove, and mountain environments.
