Call for Artists Designing Local is currently in the process of developing the Publicly Accessible Downtown Public Art Plan on behalf of the City of Brockton. They are seeking an artist or artist team to create a series of small-scale temporary murals on wooden boards that can be placed throughout Downtown. Cultural Asset Mapping The Central Massachusetts Regional Planning Commission is conducting a survey to learn about and catalogue the wide variety of Artistic and Cultural resources which exist in the Central Massachusetts region. The Commission aims to create a comprehensive inventory and map of existing assets which can be accessed and utilized by planners, municipalities, and residents. Take the survey here.
Call to Artists Monument Lab is seeking applications for the Re:Generation initiative. Monument Lab Re:Generation supports teams of two or more individuals working together to create a new or expand an existing public-facing project. Each selected Re:Generation team will receive a total of $100,000 in unrestricted funding towards their commemorative campaign or project. Monument Lab is hosting an informational webinar on September 15, 2023 at 5pm EST. The initial application will consist of basic contact information and a 500-1,500 word essay about your proposed project due before October 2, 2023. Teams that are selected to move forward after staff review will be asked for more information to round out the jury review in November. Re:Generation teams will be selected by a jury of Monument Lab staff, board, and advisors including external artists, educators, researchers, and practitioners. Learn more.

Theater Administration Fellowship Program Applications for 2024 Spring Semester Fellowships are now being accepted. Black Theater Coalition offers a 14 week paid fellowship program in the Spring Semester for black identifying college undergraduates or early career professionals interested in pursuing a career in theater administration. Hospital Mural Project The New Hampshire Business Committee for the Arts (NHBCA) in partnership with New Hampshire Hospital (NHH) is seeking proposals from New England-based artists to create a wall mural for the NHH staff breakroom. The NHBCA has collected $3,000 in donations from its business members to commission an artist to create a serene scene that provides hospital staff an aesthetically pleasing, respite-inspired space. The artwork will promote self-care and well-being for their community of caregivers and support staff who dedicate their lives to the care of New Hampshire’s most vulnerable population. New Hampshire Hospital (NHH) provides acute, inpatient psychiatric services. Its mission is to help citizens with acute mental illness stabilize their conditions and live their best lives. Helping to achieve this purpose every day are the dedicated staff of the hospital including providers, psychologists, nurses, mental health workers, social workers, rehabilitation staff, environmental services staff, dietary staff, facilities staff, administrative staff, and other auxiliary staff. Artist proposals for the mural project will be accepted through September 30. Additional details and criteria for submissions are available at nhbca.com.
