Webinars with Arts Administrators Arts Administration Association New England is holding a series of “Sip and Chat” webinars with arts administrators from the region. Grants for Artists Applications for the Opportunity Fund are accepted on a rolling basis. These are grants of up to $1,000 for individual artists looking for professional development support or assistance with community arts events. Learn more.
Call to Artists The Cultural Center of Cape Cod invites artists to submit entries for their upcoming exhibition Wild Things. For this exhibition show them wild things through your perspective, whether real or imagined. Emerging Artist Fellowship The 2021 Walter Feldman Fellowship for Emerging Artists is now accepting applications from artists working in 2D media other than photography and film who have yet to have their first solo exhibition. The fellowship supports the careers of artists through a solo exhibition or alternative presentation of work and provides them with curatorial and developmental support, including expert counsel on marketing and business skills. Public Art The City of Cambridge is seeking artists to create a major public artwork outside the city’s new Tobin Montessori and Vassal Lane Upper Schools complex, as part of a reconstruction of the educational and community hub at 197 Vassal Lane. They invite you to submit your qualifications—images of past work and biographical information—to be considered for this $650,000 commission. (No proposals at this time.) Art for Racial Justice Grants Art for Racial Justice Grants support artists to create work with a lens of resilience and racial equity, that benefits people who live or work in Cambridge. Individuals and organizations can apply for grants of $5,000 to support cultural projects that further racial justice. Learn more.

Grant for Artists For the 2020-2021 grant cycle, the Cambridge Arts Grant Program includes a one-time grant category to support the creation of new artistic and cultural projects that respond to and benefit the Port Neighborhood of Cambridge. Funding for this special grant category comes from Percent-for-Art funding tied to the city’s Port Infrastructure Project, which is a multi-year construction project to reduce flooding in the Port Neighborhood. Applicants can apply for up to $9,000 in grant funding to support projects that engage and benefit the Port Neighborhood. Learn more.

Call to Artists, Poets Sunspot Literary Journal has launched Culmination. The winner will receive $500 for a Prose, Poem, or Art. No restrictions on theme, category, or the length of the piece from which the beginning is excerpted. Word limit is 250 for prose, 25 words for poetry, one panel for graphic novels, or one image for visual art. Prize: $500 cash, publication for the winner, publication offered to runners-up and finalists. Learn more.

Chapbooks The Frost Place Annual Chapbook Competition sponsored by Bull City Press is currently accepting submissions. Tiana Clark will judge. The selected winner’s chapbook will be published by Bull City Press. The winner will also receive 10 complimentary copies, a $250 prize, and a full scholarship to attend the Poetry Seminar as well as an optional writing retreat at Frost Place. Learn more.

Individual Support Grant The Adolph and Esther Gottlieb Individual Support program was established in 1976 to encourage and recognize mature painters, sculptors, and printmakers who have dedicated their lives to developing their art regardless of their level of commercial success. Each of the grantees has been creating mature art for a minimum of 20 years.
