Documentary Filmmakers Firelight Media has announced an open call for the William Greaves Fund’s second year. Founded in 2020 to support documentary filmmakers from racially and ethnically underrepresented communities, the Fund is designed to address structural challenges filmmakers face after producing their first films so that they are able to continue creating stories focused on underrepresented people and topics. Call to Artists The Northampton Arts Council is looking for artists to submit work for consideration for the Traffic Light Utility Box Mural Program. The Traffic Light Utility Box Mural Program is designed to encourage community pride and beautify the streets of Northampton, Massachusetts. Murals will be installed in public places and must be suitable for viewing by all ages. The Commission anticipates selecting artwork for up to 7 utility boxes and The Northampton Arts Council will fund $350 per utility box, inclusive of all artist’s fees, paints and materials. Boston Area Dancemakers Residency The Boston Dancemakers Residency supports two Boston-area dance artists who are striving to develop, adapt or reinvent their creative process. Public Art Residency The Boston Center for the Arts ‘ Public Art Residency program provides studio space and additional professional and creative support for two public art projects on BCA’s campus, one in Summer/Fall 2021, and one in Spring 2022. This process-oriented residency provides an opportunity for artists to experiment with their craft, develop focus, and engage in active public dialogue.
