Call to Artists The Boston Center for the Arts has a call for entry for the 26th Drawing Show Exhibition, with the theme Field Notes: Lovers, Teachers and the Consciousness In Between. The curator/juror is Chanel Thervil. The exhibition will explore how inter-generational connections between family, friends, mentors, colleagues and/or teachers shape contemporary perceptions of artists’ individual identities. Videos, Animations, Computer Generated Work Boston Cyberarts and the Massachusetts Convention Center Authority invite artists to submit proposals for the 26th round of Art on the Marquee at the Boston Convention and Exhibition Center. This 80-foot-tall Marquee offers more than 3,000 square feet of display area on 7 screens, providing full-motion video. We are looking for ten 30-second videos, animations or computer generated work, using the entire Marquee in colorful and creative ways. Artists are awarded $500 for selected videos. Eligibility is limited to artists and artist teams who reside in Massachusetts. Learn more.

Call for Art Midwest Queeritivities will be hosted by the Ruth Foster Gallery on the University of Wisconsin Eau Claire campus from February 14 to March 11, 2020. The gallery will be open Monday through Friday 10:00 AM – 4:30 PM, Thursday 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM, Saturday and Sunday 1:00 PM – 4:30 PM. Artwork must illustrate a connection to the themes prompted by Midwest Queeritivities regardless of the artists’ regional identity. Call for Art Entries are currently being accepted for the exhibition called You: Artists Depict Themselves. Open to artists of all ages at the Hopkinton Center for the Arts, juried by Arthur Dion, of Gallery NAGA in Boston. The theme: Theye ask artists to respond to the questions:Who are you? What are you like? What do most people not know about you? What is it like to be you – living in America now? Short Plays SLAM Boston Diverse Voices in Theatre is back at Open Theatre Project for 2019 and is looking for 10 minute plays from New England playwrights. Plays may have been previously produced but not in a Boston Slam. Open Theatre Project is seeking work for and by individuals of color, women & those from the LGTBQ community. Calls to Artists The Society of Arts and Crafts in Boston has calls for entry for two upcoming exhibitions: Child’s Play and Kicks. Child’s Play will explore work by artists that create craft that embodies a child’s sense of play and fun – handcrafted games, toys made from unconventional materials, cheeky creatures, etc. Shoemakers, shoe collectors, and shoe aficionados are encouraged to submit to Kicks, which is looking for footwear ranging from the historical to the avant-garde, from the sporty to the elegant, and from the humble to the outrageous.
