Call to LGBTQIA Artists Transcendence is an all-media juried exhibition open to artists who identify as members of the LGBTQIA+ community, with preference for submissions by artists who identify as transgender or as gender non-conforming (gender non-binary, genderqueer, genderfluid, agender, et cetera). This exhibition is juried by Antonius Tin Bui, a queer, gender-nonbinary, Vietnamese-American artist interested in complicating Vietnamese history and queerness through performance, textiles, and photography. Call to Artists Unbound Visual Arts is presenting Peace in Her Time: Visionary Women Against War and Violence. This 3rd annual Women’s History Month exhibition will be a thought-provoking and inspiring that examines women’s reflections on times of war and its destructive nature. UVA welcomes all artists to submit artwork for consideration. All media, including paintings, photographs, sculptures, and video will be considered. The exhibition will run from March 8 – April 29, 2019 at the Honan-Allston Library Art Gallery in Allston, MA. The call provides more special areas of interest for this exhibition, which is intended to create a dialogue about the role of women in advocating and stopping the outbreak of war and in reducing the spread of violence throughout the world and in our communities.
