Of Note: Drawing & Printmaking, Poetry, Traditional Arts Fellowships The 2018 Mass Cultural Council’s Artist Fellowships, our program supporting excellence in individual artists, is now accepting applications in Drawing & Printmaking, Poetry, and Traditional Arts. The Artist Fellowships are unrestricted, anonymously judged, competitive grants for individual artists in recognition of artistic excellence of creative work. Read our tips on applying. LGBT Films The 34th Annual Wicked Queer: Boston GBT Film Festival is now accepting entries. Categories include Documentary Feature, Narrative Feature, Narrative Short, Documentary Shorts, Experimental. Printmakers The Boston Printmakers 2017 North American Print Biennial is accepting entries. Presenting the best in contemporary and traditional printmaking, the North American Print Biennial has long been recognized as one of the most prestigious events in printmaking. Founded in 1947, the mission of the Boston Printmakers is to promote public knowledge of printmaking, encourage and support artists working in printmaking, and promote excellence and innovation within the field of printmaking. Women Playwrights The 3rd Annual Henley Rose Playwright Competition for Women is now accepting submissions. A small group of finalists will be announced in January, 2018. The First, Second, and Third Place winners will be announced by January 31st, 2018 and will recieve the Henley Rose Award, a cash prize, and be invited to attend a staged reading of their play in Knoxville, TN. Call for Art Honoring Veterans Brush Art Gallery & Studios and Ironstone Farm seek entries for their veteran-themed exhibition Honoring Our Veterans (September 30 to November 11, 2017). Works in all categories will be accepted for review. These categories include, but are not limited to, painting, sculpture, mixed-media, works on paper, fabric, ceramics, mosaics, and photography. Works must not exceed 36” in any direction or 30 pounds in weight. This is a national call for artists, open to all. Artists may submit up to 3 entries for consideration.
