The Center for Arabic Culture and The Gallery at Mt Ida College in Newton, MA, are co-hosting Ordinary Lives, an exhibition and book signing by photographer Rania Matar.
Ranias monograph Ordinary Lives depicts women and children in the Middle East. Her black and white photographs are exquisite visual testimonials of the resiliency of women and children living in the aftermath of war.
Rania is an MCC FY07 Photography Fellow as well as a finalist for the Institute of Contemporary Art/Boston’s James and Audrey Foster Award.
The opening reception/book launch is Thursday October 29, 5-7 PM.
Gallery talk with Rania at 6:30 p.m. The exhibition runs from October 27-December 13, 2009.
