Brave New Jersey, a feature film co-written by Michael Dowling (Dramatic Writing Fellow ’09), will screen at the Berkshire Museum’s Little Cinema this weekend (8/18-8/21).
The film explores how a small town reacts to “the original fake news” – the 1938 radio broadcast of Orson Wells’ War of the Worlds. In an interview with the Berkshire Eagle, the playwright/screenwriter says that his Berkshires upbringing is integral to his writing style:
“Everything I’ve created, I’ve written from here, with people around me influencing me,” Dowling said during a recent interview at Dottie’s Coffee Lounge in Pittsfield.
