ArtSake recently caught up with Camilo Ramirez (2009 Mass Cultural Council Photography Fellow). Camilo is one of eight Massachusetts photographers to be exhibiting at the upcoming exhibition of the 2009 Mass Cultural Council Photography Fellows/Finalists at the Arsenal Center for the Arts.
We asked him to briefly talk about his work in his own words.
Headroom –
There are the things we do, and the those we would like to do. Between everyday existence, our minds drift as if separating from our bodies, seeking refuge from the present.
A short trip or moment of relief; taking
us quickly through time, or into a quiet fantasy.
Our obsessions are revealed. We realize it and wake, only to move on.
To see more of Camilio’s work, be sure to check out the show arsenalARTS is presenting. It includes work from the 2009 Mass Cultural Council Photography Fellow and Finalists in an exhibition at Watertown’s Arsenal Center for the Arts on January 14 – February 27, 2010.
