Karl Baden, Holly Lynton, Sally Moore, Shelley Reed, and Donald Shambroom are all exhibiting in the group show Animal As Metaphor at Miller Yezerski Gallery (7/7-8/18, opening reception 7/7, 5-8 PM).
Mariko Kusumoto, Elin Noble, and Elizabeth Whyte Schulze are all exhibiting in Interwoven: Art Meets Nature at Highfield Hall and Gardens in Falmouth (thru 10/6).

Kati Agócs premieres a new work, Queen of Hearts for Piano Trio, at the Chamber Music Northwest Summer Festival in Portland, OR. The piece will be performed by Claremont Trio. Read about the piece in Oregon Artswatch.
Maya Erdelyi premieres her short animation film Hanemun Honeymoon at the 2017 Animation Block Party film festival in Brooklyn 7/30.
Laura Harrington‘s new novel, A Catalog of Birds, will be published by Europa Editions this month. Numerous Massachusetts readings include an event at Newtonville Books (7/11, 7 PM) and Belmont Books (7/20, 7 PM).
Michael Hoerman will debut a new chapbook, Disoriented Fascination, featuring three poems nominated for Pushcart Prizes, at two readings in Arkansas. Michael is the featured reader at the 1,485th consecutive Wednesday Night Poetry in Hot Springs at Kollective Coffee + Tea (7/12). He will appear in Fayetteville Public Library’s Second Sunday Local Author Series on 8/13.
Joel Janowitz has a solo exhibition, Island, at gWatson Gallery in Stonington ME (thru 7/12). He’s also exhibiting in a group show at Schoolhouse Gallery (thru 7/19).
Rachel Kadish will read from her new novel The Weight of Ink in the Dire Literary Series at the Out of the Blue Too Gallery (7/7, 7 PM). She’ll also be in conversation with Joanna Rakoff at Porter Square Books (8/2, 7 PM).
Zehra Khan has work in the exhibition Relationships at Riley Strauss Gallery in Wellfleet (thru 7/15). The artist was recently interviewed on the Other Peoples Pixels blog.
Danielle Legros Georges, Boston Poet Laureate, will celebrate the release of City of Notions: An Anthology of Contemporary Boston Poems, with a public reading in the Courtyard of the Central Branch of the Boston Public Library in Copley Square (7/27, 6 PM). Danielle will join many other contributing poets in reading their work.
Marilyn Levin is exhibiting in the Group Summer Show at Matter & Light Gallery in Boston (thru 8/31).
Scott Listfield has a solo show at Montreal’s Station 16 Gallery (7/13-7/29, opening reception 7/13, 6-9 PM).
Nathalie Miebach has sculptural work in The Art of Watching: Privacy and the Public Eye at 3S Art Space in Portsmouth, NH (7/21-9/17).
John Minigan‘s short play “It’s the Jews” will be performed in the “Dealing with Diversity” Festival in Vermont.
Jo Ann Rothschild has an exhibition, Visual Conversations, at the Massasoit Community College Akillian Gallery (thru 8/8, artist reception 7/13, 5:30-7:30 PM).
Joe Wardwell is exhibiting in bkprojects:PTOWN POP UP at Gallery 444 in Provincetown (7/19-7/25, opening reception 7/21, 6-11 PM).
Deb Todd Wheeler is exhibiting in Inhabiting Worlds at Concord Art (thru 8/11), Home School at Boston City Hall Galleries (7/10-8/18), Hat Tip at LABspace in Hillsdale, NY (7/15-8/12), and ReCiProCity at Gallery Kayafas (7/15-8/19).
