Julie Levesque and Joshua Meyer are both being exhibited by Rice Polak Gallery as part of Aqua Art Miami (12/4-12/8).
Laura Andel (who won an MCC Artist Fellowship in 1999), is a 2013 fellow in Music/Sound from the New York Foundation for the Arts. Earlier this year, she won the First Prize at the composition contest of the Argentina Music Council, a partner of the International Music Council and Unesco for her 50-minute work khartes.
Congratulations to Simeon Berry, whose poetry collection Ampersand Revisited won the National Poetry Series Award and will be published by Fence Books!
Mary Jane Doherty‘s documentary Secundaria has been accepted into Cuba’s International Film Festival (Festival Internacional del Nuevo Cine Latinoamericano 2013, 12/5-12/15). Early in 2014, the film will screen as part of the Dance on Camera Film Festival at the Film Society at Lincoln Center in New York (2/2/14).

Eric Gottesman revisits the controversial Ethiopian novel Oromaye in the exhibition One Needs To Listen To The Characters One Creates at Hamiltonian Gallery in Washington, DC (thru 12/13, artist talk 12/17, 7 PM).
Scott Listfield has work in Gallery 1988’s Crazy 4 Cult show in New York (thru 12/21). He’ll also be in the second Crazy 4 Cult book; book signing at the gallery on 12/14, 12-4 PM. He also has prints in Gallery 33’s dinosaur-themed show Feathers (thru 1/5/14), in Amsterdam.
Caitlin McCarthy‘s scientific drama screenplay Wonder Drug is included in the prestigious Black List’s Real Time Top List. Black List spotlights excellent, as-yet-unproduced screenplays.
Nathalie Miebach‘s work is featured on the cover of American Craft Magazine (with a great article by Joyce Lovelace).
Andrew Mowbray‘s exhibition Another Utopia is at LaMontagne Gallery in Boston (thru 12/21, artist talk 12/14, 1 PM). Read a review of the show in the Boston Globe.
Mary O’Malley is part of 13 Forest Gallery’s 6th Annual Holiday Show, Plenty (thru 1/10/14). She’ll be taking part in Open Studios at Porter Mills in Beverly (12/14, 10 AM-4 PM). She’ll be in the December Holiday show Off the Grid at Artstream Studios in Dover, NH (opening reception 12/6, 5:30-7:39 PM). Finally, she’s one of the artists in Still Life Lives! at Fitchburg Art Museum (thru 1/12/14).
Daniel Ranalli has a major exhibition of new work at Gallery Kayafas in Boston: New Snail Drawings (thu 1/18/14, opening reception 12/6, 5:30-8 PM).
Elizabeth Whyte Schulze’s work was mentioned in the Boston Globe’s Pick of the Day about an exhibition she’s in, All Things Considered VII: National Basketry Organization Juried Exhibition at the Fuller Craft Museum.
Sarah Slifer Swift will present new dance work as part of the Third Life Studio Choreographer Series in Somerville, 12/13, 8 PM.
Laurel Sparks is the curator of See with Fingers, an exhibition at the Barbara Walters Gallery at Sarah Lawrence College (thru 12/20).
