We heartily congratulate the City of Boston and the five artists awarded its inaugural Artist Fellowships.
At a ceremony yesterday (October 11, 2017) at Boston City Hall, Mayor Marty Walsh and Julie Burros, Chief of Arts and Culture for the City of Boston, announced that the city’s first Artist Fellowships would be awarded to performance artist Marilyn Arsem, filmmaker Mary-Jane Doherty, conceptual artist Michelle Fornabai, jazz composer and trumpeter Jason Palmer, and writer Dariel Suarez. All of the artists live in the city of Boston and will receive a $10,000 along with professional development and other support from Mayor’s Office of Arts and Culture.
At the ceremony, Burros announced that funding for the program would continue, so watch for announcements for the next application cycle from the City of Boston.
