MCC Support for Artists

The MCC believes that individual artists – whether emerging, mid-career, or established – are the inspiration and foundation of our vibrant cultural community. Through subtlety of color, texture, sound, word, light and gesture, they mine the depths of our shared humanity, and break down difference. They open minds, transform our hearts, and help shape society. They give us new ways of seeing and new modes of living, confidence in our past and vision for the future.

MCC supports artists across a range of disciplines and cultural traditions, through a broad mix of different funding programs and services.

Funding:

Artist Fellowships – grants to individual artists in Choreography, Crafts, Drawing (includes Printmaking/Artist Books), Fiction/Creative Nonfiction, Film and Video, Music Composition, Painting, Photography, Playwriting/New Theater Works, Poetry, Sculpture/Installation, and Traditional Arts.
YouthReach – grants for artist residencies in youth development programs.

Services:

Gallery@MCC – Publicizes and promotes Artist Fellows and Finalists by featuring their images, streaming audio/video, and writing excerpts.
ArtistLink – works collaboratively to create a stable yet dynamic environment for Massachusetts artists and to support their increased contributions to our society and local communities. MCC Advisor Corps – Artist-run organizations can apply to receive up to two days of one-on-one consulting services that address specific issues of organizational health and capacity at minimal cost. Advisors have expertise in areas such as fundraising, marketing, audience development, strategic planning, board development, staff development, capital campaign readiness and more.
Creative Teaching Partners – A juried list of teaching artists to help schools locate artists who have extensive experience working in-depth with youth in both in-school and after-school settings.
MatchBook.org– MatchBook.org is an online cultural marketplace that brings together New England’s performing and teaching artists and the people and organizations who hire them.
