Boston Sculptors Stands Tall

It does take a village.

The Boston Sculptors Gallery, an artist-driven organization, was born from a fierce determination to bring forth contemporary sculpture and installation to the viewing public. It has just reached a milestone: its 20th year anniversary! During this time, it has achieved a breathtaking list of accomplishments for the gallery and its members: 58 sculptors, 227 exhibitions, 94,000 visitors, work in 48 states, 36 countries, 315 awards, 134 grants, 81 residencies, 227 private commissions, 1,100 public and private collections, 169 permanent public art works, 308 temporary public art works, 958 reviews, and most importantly, the things that can’t be quantified in numbers… the exquisite exchange of ideas from the object’s creator to the mind of the person viewing and experiencing it.

On view right now, from all 36 current Boston Sculptors members and 15 alumni, is Height, Width, Depth, Time: Boston Sculptors Celebrates 20 Years. The exhibit will beĀ at Boston Sculptors Gallery in Boston’s South End through January 27, 2013. And as a bonus treat, on Wednesday, January 23rd from 6:15-7:30, is the gallery talk Sculpture that Works with Audience: Kinetic, Interactive, Installation and Public Art.
