Mineck Foundation has created a fellowship of $25,000 to encourage and support a young-in-career furniture artist with the financial assistance to help him/her succeed in his/her journey. Photography The Cotuit Center for the Arts seeks photography for its August 2018 show, Seven Deadly Sins. Interpret this theme in your own unique way. $3250 in cash prizes. The juror is photographer Amy Arbus, who teaches portraiture at the International Center of Photography, Anderson Ranch, NORD photography and the Fine Arts Work Center. She has published several books of photography, including The Fourth Wall which the New Yorker called her “masterpiece.” Her work has appeared in over 100 periodicals including The New Yorker, Vanity Fair, Rolling Stone, Architectural Digest, and The New York Times Magazine. She is the daughter of actor Allan Arbus and photographer Diane Arbus. Submissions will be accepted through CaFE only. Photographers Art Through the Lens is an annual international juried contemporary photography exhibition that provides photographers with an outlet for their art, encouragement for growth in their vision and presentation, and cash rewards for works of exceptional merit. Artists may submit up to 20 photographic entries. All photo-based imagery including video and moving images created through photographic processes are eligible including non-lens made images. All work submitted must be original, completed in the last three years, and not previously exhibited in an Art Through the Lens or Paducah Photo exhibition. Printmakers The Pacific States Biennial National juried printmaking exhibition was established by the Art Department Print Studio at the University of Hawai’i at Hilo in 1982 and is now the Pacific States Biennial North American. The exhibition is open to all artists 18 years or older presently residing anywhere on the North American continent, its islands, and outlying US territories. This premier Hawai’i biennial exhibition is hosted in conjunction with the Campus Center Gallery with support from the Student Activities Council and the East Hawai’i Cultural Center.
