Exhibition Proposals The Gallery at Mount Ida College in Newton, MA currently seeks solo or group show proposals from artists or curators for their upcoming 2012/13 exhibition year. Please send interest by email and state what you are interested in, group, solo, artists involved, images of art work or links to art work.
Short Stories Entries are now being accepted for Literal Latté’s K. Margaret Grossman Fiction Award, a prize of $1,000 and publication in Literal Latté. The editors will judge. All entries are considered for publication. Submit a story of up to 8,000 words with a $10 entry fee ($15 for two stories). Learn more.

Call for Art The Cape Cod Art Association‘s is now excepting entries for Breath of Spring, an open juried exhibit and sale. Artists may submit up to five pieces; however, jurors may only accept two works from each artist. The entry fee for each piece is $10 for members and $15 for non-members. The exhibition, showcasing artists’ interpretations of the theme of beginnings and renewal, will run from February 14th to March 18th. The Grand Opening and Awards reception will be held on Friday, February 15th from 4-6pm and is open to the public. There are cash prizes for the winners. All artists who wish to participate should upload JPEGs of their work here.

Professional Development for Musicians The Arts & Business Council of Greater Boston is currently accepting applications for their Musician’s Professional Toolbox program, a nine-month career development course to provide musicians with the skills and confidence they need to master the business challenges of being a musician. Artist Residency Fellowships The Harpo Foundation Native American Fellowships Program offers two residency fellowships to American Indian, Alaskan Native and Native Hawaiian visual artists at the Vermont Studio Center. Each Fellow receives a one-month residency, which includes a $500 travel stipend, room and board, a private studio, access to VSC’s distinguished visiting artists. Craft Artists Residency Scholarships The Haystack Mountain School of Crafts, an international craft school located on the Atlantic Ocean in Deer Isle, Maine is offering residency scholarships in three categories; technical assistant, work study, and minority. Exhibition Proposals The Newton Free Library is currently seeking submissions of two dimensional, original works by local artists to be exhibited in their galleries for the January-June 2014 time period. The Newton Free Library presents monthly art exhibits by regional artists in their Gallery and Main Hall. The library is a state-of-the-art facility which over 15,000 people visit weekly. Learn more.
