We’re excited to announce the launch of the Massachusetts Cultural Council 2013 Artist Fellowships Program. The Artist Fellowships are unrestricted, anonymously judged, competitive grants in recognition of artistic excellence.
There are two deadlines per fiscal year, divided by discipline, and applications are now being accepted in Crafts, Dramatic Writing (formerly called “Playwriting”), and Sculpture/Installation. Deadline: Monday, October 1, 2012.
MCC will accept applications in Film & Video, Music Composition, and Photography from December 15, 2012 to January 28, 2013. Deadline: Monday, January 28, 2013.
Changes to note this year: we changed the category name “Playwriting” to “Dramatic Writing.” As in prior years, the category accepts scripts written for performance (plays, screenplays, monologues, etc.). Please note that Dramatic Writing applicants will now use an online form to upload work samples (rather than mailing them).
Who should apply for an Artist Fellowship? Massachusetts artists creating original work who meet eligibility requirements (see guidelines) are encouraged to apply. Read our tips on applying for an MCC Artist Fellowship.
We know artists work in ways that are not always easily categorized. If you have any questions where your work might best fit in the program, don’t hesitate to ask us.
